Camera
The cameras used by the HomeServer are managed in this screen. Cameras can be used, e.g. to monitor the entrance of a house. Camera pictures can be stored in the camera archive of the HomeServer and sent by E-mail or FTP. However, please note that the HomeServer only supports network cameras and no "webcams" at the USB.

Display of the camera picture from the camera is via the camera screen in the Query menu and in the Visu. In the Visu, the camera picture can also be placed on the Visu surface. The camera picture can not be displayed in the WAP mode.

To create a new network camera, switch to the "Camera" window.
Point the mouse in the directory tree to "Camera".
Press the right mouse button. A pulldown menu opens.
Select "Create camera" and fill in the boxes on the screen mask that then opens.
The list of supported cameras is available at www.gira.de or www.dacom-homeautomation.de.
Data
Designation
Designation of the camera in the project.
Address of the camera
Numeric IP address or name of the camera via which the HomeServer can reach the camera.
If there is a DNS (Domain Name Server) then a name can be entered.
IP port of the camera
This option is activated when the IP port is to be changed.
If this option is not activated then the camera is addressed via the standard IP port 80.
Path for camera picture and name of picture
The picture is called up in the camera via this path. Examples are listed below.
Timeout (in secs)
During the request, the HomeServer waits fort the time set here until the picture is received.
If this time is exceeded then a white surface appears in the screen display.
Requesting a picture
There are network cameras that use different procedures for requesting a picture. The HomeServer provides two different procedures for this: The cameras listed in the examples use the first procedure.
The procedure has no effect on the archiving of the camera pictures. Both procedures are suitable for this.
Picture width (in pixels)
The camera picture has this width when requested from the camera.
Picture height (in pixels)
The camera picture has this height when requested from the camera.
Streaming enabled
You can activate the continuous request of single pictures using this option.
If you are operating with the client program then you can show a full-motion picture.
To reduce the load to the HomeServer, we recommend that you activate the direct access to the camera in the user administration.
Wait time (in milliseconds.)
In streaming mode, this time is waited for between requesting the single pictures. The smallest wait time is limited to 200 ms. Shorter times are not possible.
Password protection
Yes: The HomeServer logs into the camera with the Standard Basic Authentication Procedure.
If the camera is password protected and if direct access was activated in the user admin of the HomeServer,
then the user must once more log in to the camera when accessing via the browser.
When operating with the client program with direct access, when archiving using the HomeServer and
without direct access with the browser, a re-login at the camera is not required.
User (optional)
Log in at the camera is carried out using this user name.
Password (optional)
Log in at the camera is carried out using this password.
