Access to the HomeServer via internet portal.
Access procedure via the portal is described in detail here:
1) - The user calls up the HomeServer.
- The HomeServer checks the authorization of the caller based on the telephone number.
- If the caller is known then he is sent a 5-digit random number as PIN.
- The PIN is transmitted by voice output.
- The PIN is only valid once for a set time
2) - After a valid call, the HomeServer connects to the internet.
- It then transmits its address in the internet to the portal.
- The address is transmitted encrypted with a password.
- This password is only known to the HomeServer and the operator of the portal.
- This password can be changed by the owner of the HomeServer at any time.
3) - The user calls the portal page via the internet from his device.
- On the portal page, he enters the name of the HomeServer in the screen.
- This name is only known to the user and can be changed at any time.
- The portal transmits the internet address of the HomeServer.
4) - The device of the user now connects automatically and directly with the HomeServer.
- The portal is no longer involved in the subsequent procedure.
- The HomeServer transmits a LOGIN screen to the user.
- The user must now enter the user name and the PIN he has obtained in 1) above.
- The HomeServer can be used if authentication is positive.
- Transmissions between the HomeServer and the user are encrypted.
Comments:
The portal therefore assumes the function of a directory assistance in order to search for a suitable address (telephone number) based on a known name.

The password, which is known to the operator of the portal, is only used to deposit the address of the HomeServer.
During user authentication with the HomeServer, the portal is no longer involved.

We would like to stress this at this point as in the past there have often been misunderstandings regarding this.
The operator of the portal therefore has absolutely no information that he could use to access the HomeServer.
All data required for authentication are exclusively located on the HomeServer
and can only be changed on location using the commissioning software.

Another important point during authentication is the use of a PIN that is only valid once.
This is of special significance when accessing the HomeServer via public devices (e.g. internet cafe, workplace, etc.),
as any entries made - and therefore also passwords - are stored and logged there.
