Network
The network connection settings are made here (internal/external).
HomeServer IP address
Static IP address (internet protocol, ipv4) of the HomeServer
that you have received from your network administrator or internet provider.
An IP address is a 32-bit number that is formed from four numbers between 0 and 255,
each separated by periods.

Example: 192.168.0.11
HomeServer port address
Yes: The TCP-IP port address can be set here.
The standard port address of the HomeServer for http requests is 80
No: The port can not be changed.

Attention: The port should only be changed when you are sure of the exact effects of doing so!
Network/Subnet mask
This box is used for entering the subnet mask number that you have received from your network administrator
or your internet provider.
Together with the IP address, this number indicates the network segment that your computer is a member of.
A subnet mask is a 32-bit number that is formed from four numbers between 0 and 255,
each separated by periods.
Normally, the numbers 0 and 255 are used as the standard subnet mask numbers (such as 255.255.255.0).
However, other numerical values can be used.
Internal gateways
The HomeServer reaches systems outside of the local address area over this gateway.
A gateway is a device that is connected to several physical TCP/IP networks
that can retransmit or distribute IP packages among each other.
A gateway translates various transport protocols or data formats (for example, IPX and IP)
and is added to networks chiefly due to this translation function.
Up to 10 internal gateways can be entered.
Internet access
All available internet access protocols are listed here.
No access
The HomeServer does not support any internet connection to a portal or to www.dyndns.org.
ATTENTION: If entries are to be made for the default gateway and the DNS and if the HomeServer can reach the internet from these
then E-mail transfer, ftp transfer or the inclusion of a camera, e.g. in the internet, is possible.
This may result in connection costs!
Establish ISDN dial connection on request (portal)
When a call is made, the HomeServer connects to the internet and the internet portal via ISDN.
Access can then be made via the portal.
Establish ISDN dial connection on request (DynDNS.org)
When a call is made, the HomeServer connects to the internet via ISDN.
Access can then be made via nnnn.dyndns.org.
Permanent ISDN dial connection (portal)
The HomeServer connects automatically via ISDN with the internet after startup and keeps the connection open.
Access can then be made via the internet portal.
Permanent ISDN dial connection (DynDNS.org)
The HomeServer connects automatically via ISDN with the internet after startup and keeps the connection open.
Access can then be made via nnnn.dyndns.org.
Establish router connection on request
When a call is made, the HomeServer connects to the internet via a Router.
Access can then be made via the portal.
Keep router connection open
The HomeServer connects automatically via Router with the internet after startup and keeps the connection open.
Access can then be made via the portal.
Dedicated line
The HomeServer is connected with the internet via a dedicated line with its one/fixed IP address.
Default gateway
Is used for entering the IP address for the standard gateway
that you want to add. This is the address of a local IP router
that is in the same network as this computer
and that is used for redirecting data traffic to targets outside of the
local network.
The numbers 0 to 255 can be entered in these boxes.
A gateway is a router that connects separate IP network segments to each other.
For example, a network segment often requires a gateway to connect to another network segment,
a WAN (Wide Area Network) or to the internet.
1. DNS server
Is used for entering the IP address for the preferred or primary DNS server for this computer.
This server is used first to resolve DNS names,
which are requested by this computer and which are not able to be resolved using local names
into IP addresses.
2. DNS server
Is used for entering the IP address for the alternative or secondary DNS server for this computer.
This server is used when the DNS server indicated in the preferred DNS server can not be reached
or when the DNS names requested by this computer
can not be resolved into IP addresses.
Own MSN
Using this number (MSN), the HomeServer establishes the connection to the internet provider using its own built-in ISDN adapter

The MSN is the telephone number without the local network or the extension of a telephone installation.

Example:
02195 4567 the MSN here is 4567 or, in a PBX:
02195 602-123 where 123 is the MSN.
Exchange/access number of provider
A combination of the exchange number and the access number of the internet provider.

Exchange: This number is dialed before the actual number in order to establish a connection
to the public phone network via the telephone installation.

Example: 0 (zero)

ATTENTION: Check the current costs before using this!!!
We accept no liability for the number indicated!
We recommend that you use a provider that invoices in one-second pulse rate!
User name
User name for the internet provider.

Password
Password for the internet provider.

Emit calling tone
Yes: The speaker in the HomeServer emits a calling tone when establishing the connection.
A
communication object is also set.
Portal address
The portal is reached via this internet address.
The following address can currently be used:

homeserver.gira.de

ATTENTION: http:// must not be placed in front of the address!
Portal password
The password at the portal is entered here.
Every HomeServer is setup on delivery to this portal page with its serial number as the password.
Attention: all letters in upper case (CAPS)!!
DynDNS domain
Here you enter the address used to reach the HomeServer.

Example: nnnn.dyndns.org

In this case, nnnn stands for the name that you have created at http://dyndns.org.

In this example, you reach the HomeServer via

http://nnnn.dyndns.org/hshtm or http://nnnn.dyndns.org/hslist
User name
You log in at dyndns.org using this name.

Example: markus

Password
You log in at dyndns.org using this password.
Host for login
The HomeServer logs in at this address.

Example: members.dyndns.org

ATTENTION: http:// must not be placed in front of the address!
Host for IP request
The HomeServer requests the current IP address at this address.

Example: checkip.dyndns.org
ATTENTION: http:// must not be placed in front of the address!
Portal address
The address of the internet provider is entered here.
Example: homeserver.gira.de

ATTENTION: http:// must not be placed in front of the address!
Portal password
The HomeServer logs into the internet portal using this password.
On delivery, the password is the 12-digit serial number of the HomeServer.
All letters used must be capitalized (upper case). Leading zeros must be included.
The serial number is located on the rear of the housing of the HomeServer
Example: 00795ABCDEFA
Router
The HomeServer reaches the internet via this router address.
Example: 192.168.0.1
Domain Name Server 1 (DNS 1)
In most cases, the address is identical to the router address.
Domain Name Server 2 (DNS 2)
Alternative address; this is used when DNS 1 can not be reached.
In most cases, the address is identical to the router address.
