Transfer project
The project data are transferred to the HomeServer via these pages.
The HomeServer is provided with its functions on the transfer of the project.

If you have made all the settings and created all the graphic files in the HomeServer Expert, then these must now be transferred to the HomeServer.
The HomeServer can be programmed locally or remotely.

There are two main ways of transferring data to the HomeServer:

Attention:
In case of repeated transfer, data already recorded in the archive may be deleted. This happens when changes have been made to the master data in the archive. You should therefore store the data by means of requests, ftp transfer or sending E-mail.

Network
Local address
The IP address of the HomeServer is used here.
The IP address of the HomeServer is set in the screen
Project/Network.
Network - remote access
This option is used when the HomeServer can be reached via a static IP address or
a name (e.g. via www.dyndns.org).
The address shown and used here is determined under
Project/Project settings.
This should avoid the "wrong" HS being reprogrammed remotely.
This setting is useful to companies/users that administer/use several HomeServers.
Network - other address
Using this option, the HomeServer can be addressed directly by name or via IP address for reprogramming.
The IP port must also be entered here.
The IP port is determined under
Project/Project settings.

Example:
192.168.0.11

or via www.dyndns.org

nnnn.dyndns.org

The network settings are made under General - Network.
When delivered, the IP address of the HomeServer is 192.168.0.11
Address of the HomeServer
The IP address or a unique name for the HomeServer is entered here. The IP address of the HomeServer contained in Project/Network is suggested.
Network - Address the HomeServer via a portal
This option allows the HomeServer to be addressed via the portal homeserver.gira.de. To allow this, the HomeServer must be connected to the internet and the current address must be known to the portal. A more detailed description of the portal is located here.
Portal address
The HomeServer is remotely programmed via this portal address.

e.g. homeserver.gira.de
HomeServer name
The HomeServer is reached via the portal under this name.
When delivered, this is the serial number of the HomeServer.
User name
The HomeServer Expert logs onto the HomeServer using this name.
This user must have
administrator rights.
In the list, only users with these rights are suggested.
Password
The HomeServer Expert logs onto the HomeServer using this password.
ATTENTION observe upper/lower case!
Store password
The HomeServer permanently stores the user name and password. These data are then suggested when restarting the program.
via serial interface
ATTENTION: transmission via serial interface is only possible during the start phase of the HomeServer.
In running operation, transmission is only possible via
network!

Procedure:

  • ATTENTION: Observe this order exactly!
  • Switch off the HomeServer
  • Connect the HomeServer and the commissioning PC with the special cable (included in delivery).
  • [Start] the transmission in the HomeServer Expert
  • Then switch on the HomeServer!
  • Data transfer begins after a short time.
  • Serial interface
The commissioning PC establishes a connection to the HomeServer via this COM interface.

The number of the COM interface is entered in the box.
    e.g. 1 or 2, etc.

The "HomeServer Expert" uses the following parameters:

The transmission parameters usually do no have to be set in the commissioning PC.
The interface parameters can be set in the system settings of the PC.

    Attention:
If there are transmission problems, we recommend switching on FIFO.
This can be switched on under Windows in System Control/System/Hardware/Device manager/Connections/COM.

    Transmission mode
    Transmission mode - transmit pictures+data
All graphic files (client design, icons, Visu) and settings are transmitted together.
Only the graphic files of the client used are transmitted.

This mode should only be selected:

  • during the first data transmission or before first access via the user interface,
  • when graphic files are changed,
  • when creating new icons and optic modules and
  • when assigning other/new designs
  • .
    Transmission mode - Transmit data
The settings (without the graphic files ) for the HomeServer are hereby transmitted This mode should also be carried out after every change to the project.
Transmission mode - Transmit no data
If the HomeServer is to be restarted or the retentive memory is to be deleted, then this option should be selected.
Transmission mode - Restart HomeServer (hardware restart)
    This option restarts the HomeServer.
This function should be run every time the network settings are changed!
Transmission mode - Delete retentive memory
The retentive memory is deleted by this option.
The previous transmission modes leave the retentive memory unchanged.
Retentive memory is the data memory that stores data even after a power failure or a restart, e.g. timers, calendar, archives and counters, etc.

    Attention:
If the firmware of the HomeServer is updated then the retentive memory should be deleted on the first data transmission!
    Messages
Project has already been transmitted. Do you want to retransmit the project?
Note; the project can be transmitted any number of times.
    Note: No user entered
    Note: No password entered
    Establish connection to portal
    HomeServer not online
    Log in to HomeServer XYZ
    Connection to HS open
    Transfer completed successfully
Data were able to be transferred successfully; the HS restarts.
    Data could not be transferred
    Entering the password:observe upper/lower case
    Connection to HS closed
This signals the end (termination) of a connection.
An error has occurred during transfer
Waiting for connection... Please start the HS
    Invalid IP port
A system error (1) has occurred
The COM interface is probably already assigned or is incorrect
A system error (5) has occurred
The COM interface is probably already assigned or is incorrect
Can not open ComPort, ComPort is probably already assigned.
The set serial interface (COM1 to COMx) has probably been opened by another program, e.g. ETS. The existing interface can be checked under System Control/Device Manager.
    Cost warning
With these current settings, the HomeServer immediately establishes a permanent connection to the internet. This may result in high costs. Transfer project anyway?

This warning is intended to inform you of costs occurring due to an internet connection.
    Store retentive data
The retentive data of the HomeServer are stored via this screen.
Always store the retentive data of the HS project (refer to archive Project).
You can only restore all settings with the retentive data with the project.
The data can be stored via the PC over all connection paths (network/internet/ISDN and COM) of the screen.
The user must have administrator rights.
Save using the following file name
All retentive data are stored in this file. The file has a *.dat extension
    Upload retentive data
You can restore saved retentive data back into the HomeServer using this program item.
It is hereby necessary that the project from which the data arise is still running on the HS.
The stored data can otherwise not be assigned in the project. They are lost.
The HS is automatically restarted after uploading.
The data can be uploaded to the HS over all connection paths (network/internet/ISDN and COM) of the screen.
    Select retentive memory file
The content of the file indicated here is loaded into the HS.
The file has a *.dat extension
